Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme is designed to integrate EAL students into the mainstream classroom environment. No. The British School is a day school. Students must reside with at least one parent/guardian in Delhi NCR who should have full responsibility for the child.
Primary students are expected to be in school from 7.50 am to 2.10 pm, with an option for an extended day until 3.10 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Secondary students are expected to be in school from 7.50 am to 2.20 pm, with an extended day until 3.10 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. IB students have an extended day until 3.10 pm on Fridays.
Applicants may not sit in a class as it may affect student learning. However, the admissions team is available to answer any questions that you may have. If there are any queries that they are unable to answer, the correct information will be sent to you later. A meeting with teachers/curriculum leaders may be organised at a later stage, if required.
The registration fee of Rs 20,000 is non-refundable and does not guarantee admission.

The age criterion is clearly defined in the Age-Year Guide 2024-25 and is followed for all admission applications.
The cut-off age date for all year groups is 1 September. However, the school reserves the right to place an applicant in the year it deems appropriate.
The waiting list varies from one year group to the other. Applicants are placed in the category for which they are eligible on a first-come, first-served basis and continual intake of foreign nationals causes constant movement of the waiting list placement. Please contact the Admissions office for further questions.
Once an application is completed online with the registration fee paid, the applicant’s name will be put on the waiting list. The Admissions office will get in touch with you when a place is available as per your waiting list status. Admission may be offered at any time during the academic year depending upon availability of seats. More details may be found on the admission process page.
Confidential recommendations are school-to-school documents and must arrive at the Admissions office directly from either the teacher or the school of the applicant. They may be emailed directly to admissions@british-school.org or sent by post in a sealed and stamped envelope to the school.
Parents are responsible for ensuring that the confidential recommendation reaches us in a timely manner.
Yes. In order to make your visit informative and useful, please make an appointment with us beforehand. We are unable to meet visitors without prior appointment.

Preference is given to siblings of students already in the school in that siblings automatically move to the top of their respective category in the waiting list.
No. All applicants, regardless of nationality and status, must complete the application process and clear the admission interaction before they can be admitted.

The school offers largely organic meals for the hot lunch programme. All meals are prepared fresh on site and use locally produced, seasonal and flavourful products.

All students from Nursery to Year 11 are required to wear a uniform. There are separate winter and summer uniforms for daily wear and physical education. Uniforms may be bought from the uniform shop on the premises.
IB students have no uniform but need to follow a dress code.
We have a strong transition programme that helps all new students and parents quickly become part of the TBS family. The class teacher will assign a student (someone with the same mother tongue, if possible) to be your child’s buddy when they join to help with the transition phase.
